Storing an active tag

An active tag can be put to sleep and stored for later use.

If an active collar tag or active ear tag is not being used, it should always be put to sleep in order to conserve the internal battery.

To put an active tag to sleep:

HOLD the magnet over the magnet icon for 8 seconds.
The LED will emit a single flash to indicate that it has been put to sleep.

Tip: If an animal has left your farm, don't forget to use the Datamars Livestock web app to mark the animal as 'sold' or 'died' in order to keep the database up-to-date.
