BERD are adaptable reptiles, but their care needs change depending on the climate. In warmer regions, owners must ensure that their habitat doesn’t overheat, while in cooler areas, proper heating sources are essential to maintain their body temperature. A stable environment helps prevent stress and illness.

The BERD method recommends monitoring both the basking and cool side temperatures daily to ensure they remain within the ideal range. Using thermostats, heat lamps, and UVB lighting is crucial to mimicking their natural habitat. Proper humidity control also plays a role in preventing respiratory infections and dehydration.
