Shedding is a natural process for BERD, allowing them to grow and maintain healthy skin. Younger dragons shed more frequently, sometimes every few weeks, while adults may shed in patches rather than all at once. Proper humidity levels and hydration play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth shedding process.

The BERD guidelines recommend misting, warm baths, and providing rough surfaces like logs or rocks to help loosen shedding skin. If shedding seems incomplete or difficult, owners should avoid pulling the skin and instead use gentle assistance to prevent injury.
