📝 Overview
Bank debit lets your customers pay you directly from their bank account through Stripe, as an alternative to paying by card. It is set up within your Stripe payment settings, alongside card payments, and is intended to take the place of GoCardless for collecting direct debit payments.

Make sure Stripe is connected to your account. From your dashboard, go to Settings ➜ Collect Payments.
Click on Edit Usability in order to see what purchase types Stripe can be enabled for.
Click on Manage next to Accepted Payment Methods.
Now you can configure which purchase types customers can pay for using their credit/debit card (Card Payments), and which purchase types they can pay for using their bank account info (Bank Debit).
Click on "Configure availability by purchase type" under either option in order to set this up.You can tick each purchase type you'd like each payment method to be available for.
⚠️ If you enable any payment method for a specific purchase type in the Accepted Payment Methods section, you'll need to ensure it's also enabled in the Edit Usability section as well.
💡 In the "Accepted Payment Method" section (step 4), you'll see the Wallets section which shows the Link By Stripe, Apple pay, and Google pay options.
By default these options are enabled and they're greyed out, so you're not able to disable them. If you would like to disable these payment methods, please contact our support team and we will enable this for you.

🧑💻 What Your Customers See at Checkout
When both Card and Bank Debit are enabled for a purchase type, your customers will see the option to select between the two at the checkout.
💡 The bank debit option that appears is based on your account's currency, rather than being chosen by you or the customer.
