PeeringDB is a freely available, user-maintained, database of networks, and the go-to location for interconnection data. The database facilitates the global interconnection of networks at Internet Exchanges (IXs), data centers, and other interconnection facilities. The database is a non-profit, community-driven initiative.

PeeringDB entry is a must-have for all networks

Ever since, PeeringDB is a 100 percent run by volunteers who dedicated their spare time to building and maintaining this community database. One of them is DE-CIX’s Chief Technology Evangelist and Co-Founder, Arnold Nipper. Having a well maintained PeeringDB entry is a must-have for all networks engaged in interconnections, especially for all peering administrators. It gives you information about networks and shows other networks who might be interested in peering with you the basic data they need to know.

If you do not have an entry yet, you can register here for free. If you already have one, we recommend checking your entry from time to time to make sure it's up to date.

There are networks which will not peer with you unless you have a PeeringDB entry.

DE-CIX is a proud sponsor of PeeringDB

To give PeeringDB a solid foundation, it is a registered company based in Seattle, WA. To guarantee operations and further development and offer its services for free, PeeringDB fully relies on sponsoring donated from companies all over the world. DE-CIX is a proud sponsor of PeeringDB, and we invite every company engaged in network interconnection to create and maintain an entry.
