What are "Placeholders" and how are they used?

"Placeholders" are fields that are taken automatically from a field in an application or in Application Detail. You can put them in an email or document template, custom link, or formula to incorporate values from a record.

The purpose of Decipher Placeholders is to take fields from applicants or that lenders must fill in and automatically populate them into a document or Email.

Placeholders in Decipher serve various purposes.

  1. Email Templates - Placeholders are used in email templates to applicants to populate information automatically, such as incomplete questions and document uploads to help lenders reduce manual work. They are used in internal messages, to alert team members of key applicant information. They are also used to populate key application information, such as a unique link and code for applicants to access the application.

  2. Document Templates - Placeholders are taken from digital applications to populate key applicant information quickly eliminating the need for manual typing. For example, the Taxpayer ID,Address, Company DBA and other key applicant information is populated automatically into document templates.

  3. Digital Signature Request Placeholders - Key signature placeholders are used in documents and are interpreted as commands by our digital signature partner to generate text and signature information for both applicants and lenders.
