How to Start an Application on Behalf of a Client

Step-by-step instructions on how to start an application on behalf of a client.

Step 1: Navigate to New Client on the Decipher main menu

Step 2: Fill in the information for the Applicant.

Step 3: Select the Application Template. Scroll to the bottom and you will have the option to select which application you would like to start. If you have multiple financing products, select the correct one. 

Step 4: Next look at the Assigned to option and ensure you or the correct person is assigned to this application. You are automatically assigned to the deal in the sales role here unless you select another team member. 

💡 Tip: Underwriters can be assigned under Application Detail. Decipher allows 2 team members to be assigned at the same time (SALES-assigned to the Client. UNDERWRITER-assigned to the application).

STEP 5: Choose whether your client should receive the automatic Application Link email as soon as the application is created. If you select Start without sending an email, you will need to send an email to the client with the Application link manually later on when you are ready. Note: starting an application without automatically notifying the client may be helpful if you would like to fill in more detailed information before the client is notified or for other reasons.

STEP 6: When all information is correct, Click Start a New Application. This will open up a window with the lender digital application for you to fill out on behalf of the client. You can send the Application Link email directly from the Application Detail page for the applicant to finish filling out, to sign the application disclosure, and upload documents or fill out other fields.

🎉  Success! You will now be directed to the application so you can continue the process of filling out information on behalf of the applicant. 🎉

Optional: Click on Send Application if you only want to send an applicant a link to this application. You need only fill out a few fields in order to send it.

⚠️ NOTE: If you click the Submit button, it will NOT Start an Application or send a Link. It will only create a Client within Decipher. You will be able to see this company under Clients but no active application will be created.
