Guide to the ID Verification Report

Decipher's ID Verification Report looks at many different aspects of an ID when a supported image file is captured and assigns an overall rating indicating the confidence that the ID has passed all verifications. See below for the verification categories examined.

Data Visibility

Checks if document number, first name, last name and DOB are clearly visible

  • Name is not clearly visible ⚠️

  • Document number is not clearly visible ⚠️

  • DOB is not clearly visible

Image Quality

Checks if the image appears to be a high-quality image taken directly from a phone or camera without cropping or resizing

  • Image appears to be computer generated ⚠️

  • Image is too blurry

  • Document image too small

  • Document file too small

  • Black/white image

Feature Referencing

Checks features and details of submitted document with a genuine document reference

  • Document features do not match up with genuine document ⚠️

  • Unable to perform feature referencing on provided document type

Exif Check

(Exchangeable Image File Format = files that store important data about photographs)

Checks if the image has been edited in photo editing software

  • Image edited in (program name, example: photoshop) ⚠️

Publicity Check

Checks if the document was likely obtained from a public domain such as the Internet

  • Document could be obtained in the public domain ⚠️

Text Analysis

Checks if the text present in the document has been tampered with

  • Text fragments appears to be computer generated ⚠️

  • Unnatural text detected ⚠️

  • Text too blurry for analysis

  • No text fragment detected

Biometric Analysis

Checks biometric features of the document

  • No photo detected ⚠️

  • Gender mismatch between document and photo ⚠️

  • Photo failed to pass liveness check ⚠️

  • Predicted age of photo is (age prediction), (age on document) shown on document

Security Feature Check

Checks if watermark, hologram, laser engraving are present on the document

  • Security feature completely missing ⚠️

  • Security feature partially missing

Recapture Check

Checks if the document is a recaptured image from a screen

  • Recaptured document ⚠️
