Facebook Business Manager Setup

Business Manager or Meta Business Suite is a new Facebook tool that allows you to manage access to your Facebook Assets.

Before you get started, double check you are an admin on your Facebook Page and that you hasn't already been claimed by a Business Manager.

To check your Facebook Access and whether you have a set up a Business Manager:

  • Select “Professional Dashboard” in the left-hand menu of your Facebook page.

  • Select “Page Access” in the left-hand menu

  • Under “People With Facebook Access” you can check your personal access and whether your Facebook Page has already been claimed by a Business Manager

This article will walk you through how to:

  1. Create a Facebook Business

  2. Add your Page to the Business

  3. Add your ad account to your Business

This is an important step for both boosting a post from Deck and exporting targets from Deck into Facebook as a custom audience.

To create a Business on Facebook go to business.facebook.com/overview. It will prompt you to “Create Your Business Manager Account.” You will need to have the following information:

  • Your Business and Account Name

  • Your Name

  • Your Active Business Email

  • Physical Address

  • Website

Follow the instructions under “Create an Account”

Then click submit and your Business will be ready to go!

Next, you’ll need to add your Page to your Business. Before you can add your Page to your Business you will need to meet these conditions:

  • You’ve been an admin of your Page for at least 7 days

  • Your Page isn’t owned by another person or Business

In Business Manager (business.facebook.com), go to “Business Settings.”

  • Click "Settings" on the right hand navigation bar

  • Click "Additional Business Settings"

  • Then on the Business Settings page, click "Pages" under "Accounts" on the right hand navigation bar

Then click Pages and click “+ Add." It will give you three choices:

  1. Add a Page

  2. Request access to a Page

  3. Create a New Page

Select "Add a Page." You’ll need to add your Facebook Page name or the Facebook URL of your Page.

Finally, you will need to make sure that your ad account is linked to your Business.

To be able to add the ad account to your Business, you need to be:

  • the owner of the ad account

  • an admin of the Business

You will not be able to add the ad account if it is owned by a different Business.

To link your ad account, go to your Business and go to the settings, go to “Ad Accounts” and click “+ Add”

When you click the “+ Add” button, it will give you three choices:

  1. Add an ad account

  2. Request access to an ad account

  3. Create an ad account

Select “Add an ad account” to link your ad account to the Business or “Create an ad account” if you need to create an ad account.

If you have successfully linked your Page and ad account, your Business Manager should look similar to this.

Now you have a Business that is linked to your Page and ad account and will be able to successfully export an audience from Deck into Facebook!
