Tips for Getting the Best Out of AI Dubbing
To make sure your video looks and sounds great with AI Dubbing, here are some tips to keep in mind before uploading your video: (These tips are especially helpful if you plan to use lip-sync for your dubbed video.)
Recommended
👌 Use videos where the face is clearly visible. Slight side angles are okay!
👌 Make sure key facial features (like eyes, nose, mouth, and eyebrows) aren't blocked by anything like microphones, hands, logos, or captions.
👌 Close-up shots of the face work best for accurate lip-syncing.
👌 Make sure the lighting is even—avoid super bright lights or heavy shadows.
👌 Videos with just one speaker speaking at a time give the best results.
Avoid
❌ Videos where the face is mostly in profile or only partly visible.
❌ Videos with a lot of background noise.
❌ Multiple people speaking at the same time.
❌ Frequent scene changes or lots of camera movement.
Note: AI Dubbing and AI Studios' Video Translation are two different features.
AI Dubbing: Handles translation of videos created outside AI Studios (typically videos filmed or produced without AI Avatars).
Video Translation: Translates videos created within AI Studios (videos made using AI Studios' AI Avatars)

How to Dub Videos in AI Studios
Step 1: Navigate to AI Dubbing
Find the AI Dubbing tool in the AI Studios dashboard under the "For You" section or the "Social Media" tab in the features menu. Alternatively, use this link.
Step 2: Choose the Dubbing Type
After opening AI Dubbing, choose the dubbing type that fits your content:
Video Dubbing
Generates a fully dubbed video with accurate lip-sync animation.
Best for videos where the speaker appears on screen and facial expressions matter.
Audio Dubbing
Adds translated voiceover without lip-sync visuals.
Ideal for B-roll, slides, animations, or off-screen narration.
Once selected, click Next to upload your video.
Step 3: Upload Your Video
Drag and drop your video file or click the upload button to select the video you want to dub. Supported formats include MP4, MOV, and WEBM, with a maximum file size of 5GB.
The maximum video length you can upload depends on your plan:
Free: Up to 3 minutes
Personal: Up to 30 minutes
Team Plan: Up to 60 minutes
If your video exceeds the allowed duration, you’ll need to upgrade your plan to continue.
You can also copy-paste a YouTube link to directly use a video from YouTube. Just select the "Upload via URL" tab and paste the link. The same video length limits apply when uploading videos via URL.
Step 4: Configure the Dubbing Settings
Configure the following settings to control how your video is dubbed and translated.
Original Language: Select the language of the original audio.
Number of Speakers: Specify how many speakers are in the video.
Select the language(s) you want to dub your video into.
Free Plan: You can select one target language.
Personal Plan and above: You can select multiple target languages at the same time.
Subtitle file upload (SRT / ASS) is available on the Personal plan and above.
Uploading an SRT or ASS file helps improve translation accuracy and speech timing. AI Dubbing uses the provided text and timestamps as a foundation for synthesis. Read more about this feature here.
Step 5: Choose Dubbing Options (optional)
Configure the following advanced options to control how your dubbed video is generated.
AI Premium Lip-Sync: Synchronizes mouth movements with the dubbed audio for a more natural, on-screen speaking experience. (Voice-Only Dubbing: Creates a dubbed video without lip-sync, applying translated voiceover only. Recommended for B-roll, slides, animations, or off-screen narration.)
Dynamic Duration: Automatically adjusts the video duration to better match the timing of the translated speech.
Add Subtitles: Automatically generates subtitles in the target language and adds them to the video.
Remove BGM: Removes background music and reduces background noise to make the dubbed voice clearer.
Note: Your selection here—especially whether lip-sync is enabled—affects how your AI Dubbing time and generative credits are used during generation.
Step 6: Proofread and Export
After reviewing your settings, click Export to generate your dubbed video.
AI Dubbing first uses your monthly included dubbing time.
If you exceed the included time, generative credits will be deducted automatically based on your selected options.
Each plan includes a monthly AI Dubbing allowance that resets every billing cycle:
Free: 3 minutes per month
Personal: 120 minutes per month
Team Plan: 240 minutes per month
Note: Monthly AI Dubbing time is the same for monthly and annual plans. The allowance resets every month, regardless of your billing cycle.
Team Plan Note: The monthly AI Dubbing time is provided per team, not per seat. Adding more seats does not increase the included dubbing time.
If your monthly AI Dubbing time is fully used, credits are deducted as follows:
With AI Premium Lip-Sync enabled: 3 credits per minute
Voice-only dubbing (Lip-Sync off): 1.5 credits per minute
Credits are calculated based on the final generated video length.
Proofread
Review and edit the translated script before exporting your dubbed video. This allows you to fine-tune wording, timing, and speaker attribution for higher accuracy. Proofread is available on the Team Plan and above. To learn how to use Proofread in detail, refer to this guide.
FAQ
1. Why is my dubbed video not synthesizing?
If your dubbed video fails to generate, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
Face visibility issues
The speaker’s face may not be clearly visible.
Solution: Use a video where the face is clearly visible and not obstructed.
Terms of use violations
The content may not comply with AI Studios’ terms of use.
Solution: Review the terms of use and ensure your content is compliant.
Unsupported video format
The video format or encoding may not be supported.
Solution: Upload videos in MP4, MOV, or WEBM format with standard encoding.
File or codec issues
The file may contain codec errors or be password-protected.
Solution: Re-encode the video using tools like HandBrake and remove any password protection.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, please contact customer support for assistance.
2. Why is the lip-sync in my dubbed video not accurate or glitchy?
Lip-sync quality can be affected by video conditions. Common causes include:
Low video quality
Blurry or grainy footage makes accurate lip detection difficult.
Solution: Upload a high-quality video with a clear view of the speaker’s face.
Facial hair
Beards or mustaches may interfere with lip tracking.
Solution: Trim facial hair if possible for clearer lip contours.
Face obstructions
Hands, objects, or microphones covering the lower face can cause issues.
Solution: Avoid covering your face or making large hand movements near your mouth.
Poor lighting
Uneven lighting or heavy shadows reduce facial tracking accuracy.
Solution: Record in a well-lit environment with even lighting on the face.
Extreme angles or excessive movement
Sharp angles or rapid head movements can disrupt lip-sync.
Solution: Keep your face at a natural angle and minimize sudden movements.
3. Why is my video not uploading?
Video upload issues are most commonly related to plan-based limitations or file constraints.
Video length exceeds your plan limit
Free: Up to 3 minutes
Personal: Up to 30 minutes
Team Plan: Up to 60 minutes
Solution: Trim your video or upgrade your plan.
Unsupported file format or file size
Solution: Ensure your video is in MP4, MOV, or WEBM format and under the maximum file size limit.
If the problem persists, adjust these factors and try again, or reach out to support for additional help.
4. How long does AI Dubbing take to process a video?
Processing time varies depending on several factors, including:
Your subscription plan
Video length and resolution
Number of speakers
Whether lip-sync is enabled
The number of scene changes or frequent speaker transitions within the video
Videos with frequent scene cuts or many speaker changes may require additional processing time, as the system needs to analyze and align speech, timing, and visual context more precisely.
In most cases, AI Dubbing completes within a few minutes to a few hours.
For longer or more complex videos, processing may take longer.
If your video is still processing, we recommend waiting up to 24 hours before contacting customer support. We continuously optimize our systems to improve processing speed and efficiency with each update.
5. How does AI Dubbing pricing work?
AI Dubbing is available on Free, Personal, Team, and Enterprise plans.
Monthly AI Dubbing Allowance
Most plans include a monthly AI Dubbing time allowance, which resets every month and is used first when generating dubbed videos:
Free: 3 minutes per month
Personal: 120 minutes per month
Team Plan: 240 minutes per month
Enterprise Plan: Enterprise plans do not have a monthly AI Dubbing time limit. Usage terms for Enterprise customers are defined separately in their contracts.
Credit Usage After the Monthly Allowance
For plans with a monthly allowance, once your included AI Dubbing time is fully used, generative credits are deducted automatically based on your selected options:
With AI Premium Lip-Sync enabled: 3 credits per minute
Voice-only dubbing (Lip-Sync off): 1.5 credits per minute
Credits are calculated based on the final generated video length.
Purchasing Additional Credits (Add-ons)
If you need more dubbing time after using your monthly allowance, you can purchase additional generative credits as Add-ons.
Add-ons allow you to continue generating dubbed videos without waiting for your monthly allowance to reset, making them ideal for larger projects or high-volume dubbing needs.
You can purchase Add-ons directly from your Billing page.
