What is Video Translation in AI Studios?

Video Translation in AI Studios allows you to translate both the script and on-screen text of your videos into different languages. This feature works with videos created using the AI Studios video editor and helps you easily create localized versions of your content for global audiences.

Note: This feature is available only to team plans and above. If you're interested in upgrading, please contact our Support Team or upgrade your subscription directly in AI Studios.

If you need to translate a video that wasn’t made in AI Studios, you can use AI Dubbing. This tool lets you translates the spoken words in your video and syncs the speaker's lips with the new dubbed audio. To learn more about AI Dubbing, check out this article.

Understanding Video Translation

AI Studios offers two ways to use Video Translation for your video projects, each designed to meet different needs:

  • Manual Translations (Single Language) – This method allows you to translate your video into one language at a time, with the ability to manually edit the script and on-screen text after translation.

  • Automatic Translations (Multiple Languages) – This option lets you translate your video into multiple languages simultaneously during export. It’s faster for bulk translations but doesn’t allow manual edits until after the video is generated.

Each option gives you flexibility based on how many languages you need and how much control you want over the final result.

List of Languages Available for Video Translation

  • English

  • Korean

  • Chinese

  • Japanese

  • Italian

  • German

  • Spanish

  • French

  • Portuguese

  • Russian

Manual Video Translations

Step 1: Access the Translation Menu

In your video editor, click the language menu next to the project name.

Step 2: Select Your Language

Choose the language you want to translate your project into from the list of available options. Then, click the button with the two inversed arrows to start the translation.

Step 3: Edit and Customize

Once the translation is complete, you can manually edit the translated script and on-screen text to ensure accuracy and alignment with your project.

Step 3A: Reverse Translations

To reverse the translation, click the same menu again and select the language you want to revert to. You may be asked whether you want to revert to the original translation or retranslate the video based on the current translations.

Step 4: Confirm and Save

After making any necessary adjustments, click Export to finalize and save your translated project.

If you use this method with multiple languages, the translated and edited languages will automatically be added to the export list. While this method requires more manual work, it allows for more precise translations to match your preferences, and you can export them all at once. Learn more about exporting translated videos

Reasons Why Video Translation Might Not Be Working Correctly

Translated Video is Longer Than Original:
If the translated video exceeds the length of the original, the synthesis process might fail. If a project fails, edit the file and shorten the script to ensure it aligns with the limits of your plan.

Translation Accuracy Issues:
Translations might not fully capture the nuances of the target language. We recommend using the AI Script Assistant (ChatGPT button at the bottom of the script box) to further edit the script and refine tone, formal/informal language, and other nuances to ensure the translation is accurate.

AI Provider Issues:
If translation is not available, our AI provider may be experiencing issues. Please check OpenAI's status to verify if there are ongoing service interruptions.
