The core in deepdivr is the dashboards. Learning how to create a dashboard and choose between dashboard types is essential to your onboarding success.

There are three types of dashboards, each of which suits different needs and use cases.

  • Manual

  • Automatic

  • Fully automatic

To get started, go to an Account and click 'Create dashboard'. After doing that, you'll see a table with your data. If you haven't created an Account yet, click here.

Manual dashboards

Manual dashboards are great for viewing or reporting on a specific campaign.

Select the desired data (e.g., social media campaigns and a Google Analytics view) from the table and click 'View dashboard' in the top right corner. Simple as that.

If the campaign is still active and consists of, e.g., social media campaigns not created yet, you might want to consider making an Automatic dashboard ⬇️

Automatic dashboards

An Automatic dashboard is smart and time-saving when you want a dashboard that automatically gets updated with upcoming campaigns. Or if you want to bundle many completed campaigns.

Automated dashboards are perfect for Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly performance reports because it's always up to date.

You can make automatic dashboards by creating rules that apply to the campaign name and date range.

Examples of rules:

  • The campaign name must include the keyword 'iPhone 27 Launch' ➑️ The dashboard will consist of existing and upcoming campaigns with this keyword

  • The campaign must have data 'This Year' ➑️ The dashboard will consist of all existing and upcoming campaigns with data from this year

  • The campaign name must include the keyword 'iPhone' AND have data This Year ➑️ The dashboard will consist of all of this year's iPhone campaigns and upcoming iPhone campaigns

Please notice that 'This Year' is a dynamic date range, which means the dashboard will also add next year's campaigns because 'next year' will become 'This Year' 1st of January.

Fully Automatic dashboards

A Fully Automatic dashboard works best if you want to ensure your dashboard only consists of the relevant data - and keep your dashboard's loading time as low as possible.

The example above with a dashboard based on the rule 'This Year' will eventually have lots of data from several years. Having lots and lots of data in a single dashboard will affect your loading time, and if you're only interested in This Year's data, the data from the previous years is redundant and will only slow your dashboard.

Making your dashboard Fully Automatic means that data that no longer matches your rules will be removed.

For example, your dashboard consisting of data from 'This Year' will be reset on the 1st of January because completed campaigns from the year before no longer match the rule. Upcoming campaigns will automatically be added.
