It's all about contracts! The more the better, of course ;)

Contracts contain price information, product names, quantities, and start & end dates. They are also the starting point for revenue recognition and most SaaS metrics.

You can add a contract simply by selecting 'Contracts' from the top menu, then 'Add contract' from the popup selection box that appears.

You can add a contract manually (one-by-one), or you can do a bulk upload.

Adding contracts manually (one-by-one)

  1. Select the 'Individual entry' option

Enter the customer name, your internal ref (optional), the start & end dates. You also enter the quantity purchased by the customer, the product (your Saas product lines), and the price.

2. Enter the price change method as many contracts have an annual increase mechanism. Select the most appropriate option.

3. Select the revenue recognition basis

4. Select 'Active' or 'Inactive'. TIP: Adding inactive contracts allows to you analyse churn.

5. Click 'Add product line'. You will be taken to a summary screen where you will have the option to add more lines (useful if there is more than one product on the same contract).

6. Once you have added all the lines for the contract, click 'Add contract'

Bulk contract upload

  1. Click the 'Bulk upload' tab at the top of the page

  2. Download the template and create your upload file in the same format. Then click 'Choose File' and select your excel or csv file to upload.

  3. The upload contracts will appear in the 'Contracts added' tab.

  4. Click on 'Specify price increases' and for each contract enter the relevant price increases then click 'Confirm'. The contract will be uploaded and removed from the list.

  5. Keep going until there are no contracts left in the list. All done :)
