How to connect your Stripe account to receive payments

Updated over a week ago

To receive revenue from paid charging sessions, you need to set up a Stripe account. Stripe is a widely used online payment solution known for its security, reliability, and ease of use. It allows you to collect payments from end users and automatically transfer the collected funds to your bank account.

Why is this information required?

Stripe is a regulated payment institution. As such, it must verify the identity of businesses and their representatives before allowing any money transfers. This verification process is called KYC (Know Your Customer). It is required under European regulations to prevent fraud and money laundering.

Steps to complete your Stripe onboarding

The onboarding process only takes a few minutes. Below are the steps to follow. Screenshots will be provided in the interface to guide you.

1. In the “Pricing” tab, click on “Create an account”

2. Enter your email address and phone number

3. Verify your phone number (via a code sent by SMS)

4. Provide your company information:

  • Legal name

  • SIREN number

  • Company address

  • Phone number

  • Industry sector

5. Provide information about the company representative(s):

  • Full name

  • Job title

  • Date of birth

  • Home address

  • Phone number

6. [Optional] Add the company owners

This step is only required if one or more individuals hold more than 25% ownership in the company.

7. Add a bank account to receive payouts

8. Review all the information and confirm

Note: A valid ID document will need to be uploaded later by the legal representative. Stripe will notify you when it’s time.
