You can change any design generated in your study by adjusting the program of specific blocks, creating parks, and adding or removing floors. Editing any design will create new ones based on the original — helping you create exactly the right design for your site and project goals.
To start adjusting a design
You can adjust any design in your study from the map, Explore and Details pages.
From the Explore or Details page, click Change this design
When viewing details about a building or block on the map, click Change program & create more options.
Specify your changes
Select parts of a design
You can change a design by adjusting the program for entire blocks (the amount of GFA for each use type), creating parks, and adding or removing floors from buildings.
Click on any building, block or park in the map for the design.
From the tooltip, select the type of change you want to make.
Adjust program for blocks
To adjust the program, select a block. Click on Adjust Program. Blocks will be re-generated with multiple options that match the new target Gross Floor Areas (GFAs). Blocks will not exceed any zoning max FAR, if any such requirements exists.
Change the target Gross Floor Area for each use type by dragging the slider.
You can also enter a specific value in the text field.
If you change your mind, you can Reset to Original to restore all original GFA values.
Once you are done making changes, click Done to save.
Create a park
To create a park, select a block with buildings and click Convert to Park. This will automatically add the change to your design.
Add or remove floors
To make changes to buildings, click on the building you'd like to edit. You can select Add Floor or Remove Floor to remove the selected floor.
Delve will select the floor you last clicked on, but if you'd like to select a different floor, double click the floor in that building.
Your changes will be reflected in the "Changes" tab.
You can continue to add or remove floors to other buildings on the block!
If you add or remove floors to a building, you will not be able to adjust the program for that block or convert it to a park.
Undo changes
To undo your changes, you can click the block, park or building and select Revert Changes.
Create new designs
Review your changes
Based on your adjustments, Delve will add up and display the total changes to a design's program for both each block and across the entire design. You can use this information to get an idea of what your new designs will look like.
You can review the changes for a design at any time by switching to the "Changes" tab. If you want to undo a change, click the X.
Create and select designs
Once you are happy with your changes, click Create New Designs.
Delve will take you to the Designs tab. New designs will be generated here based on your changes — you'll usually see results in under a minute.
You can click on any design shown to preview it in the map.
Click the checkbox to select any design you want to add to your study. You can click to Select All at the top of the list to select all.
When you're ready, click Add Design to My Study. You can exit to view your designs in your study, or continue creating more with new changes.
View your new designs in the study
After you add them to your study, your adjusted designs will be viewable under the Adjusted group in the Explore page. Each adjusted design will be evaluated for the same metrics as original designs — this process may take a few minutes to complete.
You are also able to view each design while it is in progress. After designs are evaluated they can be compared, sorted, filtered and added to reports like any other design. Change your designs to get ones you'd like to share and export!
