If a code has been applied to the wrong text, you can always uncode a snippet. Removing a code from a snippet does not remove the code from your codebook. Removing codes from a codebook is a separate process that can be learned about in the article Delete a Code.
There are a few different ways to uncode a snippet, we will go over each below. The best method to use will depend on where you are in Delve’s interface.
Uncode a Snippet via the Code Tag
You can use the Code Tag to remove a code from a snippet on the following pages:
Transcript page
Survey page
Code Details page
Snippets page
Code Tags appear at the bottom of a block of text that has been coded in Delve.
To uncode a snippet via the Code Tag on any of the appropriate pages:
Click the coded text to highlight the snippet.
Locate the code tags beneath the snippet.
Click the X next to the code you want to remove.
The code will immediately be removed from that snippet.
Uncode a Snippet via the Codes Panel
You can use the Codes Panel to remove a code from a snippet on the following pages:
Transcript page
Survey page
Snippets page
To uncode a Snippet via the Codes Panel, follow the steps below:
Click the coded text to highlight the snippet.
In the Codes Panel on the right, locate the code you want to remove.
Click the code name. This removes the code from the selected snippet.
Uncode a Snippet via the Plus (+) Button
You can use the Plus (+) Button to remove a code from a snippet on the following pages:
Code Details page
Snippets page
To uncode a Snippet via the Plus (+) Button, follow the steps below:
Click the + icon in the lower-left corner of the snippet.
Browse or search for the code.
Codes currently applied to the snippet will display a checkmark.
Click the X next to the code name to remove it.

Q. Can I undo removing a code from a snippet?
A: There is no undo button for uncoding a snippet. However, you can immediately reapply the code by selecting the snippet and coding it again.

Q. Can I remove another researcher's coding from snippets?
A: Yes, you can remove another researcher’s coding when on the Transcript page via the Code Tag or Codes Panel method. You can even do this in the Coding Comparison view (but not in the Coded by Me view, as only your coded snippets will display on the transcript there).
