How to apply a code to the text in a transcript

To code your text, highlight the text you want to code, and click the code you want to apply to it. 

Step 1. Highlight the text you want to code.

There are 3 ways to highlight text.

  1. Highlight a paragraph: Select the speaker square to the left of a paragraph to select the entire paragraph

  2. Highlight a sentence: Click a sentence to highlight the sentence

  3. Highlight a phrase, partial sentence, or multiple sentences: Drag your mouse over a phrase, partial sentence, or multiple sentences to highlight it.

Step 2. Click the code you want to apply to that text

Click the code you want to code it with or add a new code

A: Yes, you can apply multiple codes to the same text in Delve. This is very useful when a segment of text discusses multiple themes or ideas. To do this, just select the text and apply each relevant code.

Q: Can I select multiple sentences and paragraphs to code in Delve?

A: Yes, in Delve, you can select multiple sentences or even entire paragraphs to code. You can do this by clicking and dragging over the text you want to code. Once you've selected the desired text, you can apply any relevant code.

Q: Can I add a code and code a snippet at the same time?

A: Yes, if you create a code while your transcript is highlighted, you will simultaneously add a code and apply it to the currently selected text.
