When collaborating, or practicing consensus coding, you may want multiple people to code the same transcript, then compare how they coded. This article walks through how to do so within Delve.
Step 1. Share your project
If you are the project owner, share your project with others. See how.
Step 2. Upload transcripts
Next, upload transcripts to this project. All transcripts will be seen by everyone that you shared the project with.
Step 3. Navigate to "Transcript | Coded by Me" to hide how others coded.
Each person can code the same transcript at the same time. If you want to do this without seeing how others coded, use the "Coded by me" feature.
Step 4. Code the transcript
Now that other people's codings are hidden, you can code your transcript without their decisions influencing yours.
Step 5. Navigate to "Coding Comparison"
Click the "Coding Comparison" feature to compare how you coded versus other people.
Within the "Coding Comparison" view, you can compare how different people coded.
Select the names of the people you want to compare, then view the side-by-side comparison of how they coded this same transcript.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) About Code Comparison
Q: Can I see more than two people at once in the Code Comparison feature?
A: Currently, in Delve you can only compare two coders at a time. However, since Delve is a browser-based tool, you can open multiple browser windows and put them side by side. This method allows you to visually compare multiple coders simultaneously.
