When you're working on coding a transcript, it's often helpful to avoid being influenced by how others have coded it. To address this, you can utilize the 'Transcript | Coded by Me' feature, which allows you to hide other people's coding.

By using this feature, you can conceal the codings done by others, ensuring that your own coding decisions remain unaffected. It's important to note that when you hide other people's codings, your own codings will still be visible to others who are working on the same project.

In essence, this feature simply hides the codings done by others, making sure that you only see your own codings.

Step 1. Click on the arrow next to "transcript"

Make sure you are looking at a transcript. Then click on the "transcript" menu option.

Step 2. Select "Transcript | Coded by Me"

Select the option, "Transcript | Coded by Me". Once you're in this. view, you can can code the transcript as you always do, but the transcript will not show how other people coded.

The codes on the right hand side will still be the full list of codes shared across the entire project.

Step 3. Compare how different people coded the same transcript

Use the "Coding Comparison" feature to compare how you coded versus other people.

FAQ

Will others shared on the project see how I coded?

Yes, all of your codings will show up for everyone else shared on the project. If they choose to use the "Transcript | Coded by Me" view, however, they would not be able to see your codings on the specific transcript they're looking at.
