Dental Intelligence makes it easy to manage provider availability in Online Scheduling Configuration. Once set up, enable Availability in Dental Intelligence to override the availability rules in your practice management software so you can manage scheduling in one centralized location––no more switching between platforms.
How to Edit Provider Availability for Online Scheduling in Dental Intelligence
Dental Intelligence pulls providers from your practice management software. To get started setting up provider availability:
In the left side menu of Dental Intelligence, click on Scheduling > Configuration > Availability
Click on the pencil icon to open a provider profile
Click on the Operatories dropdown to choose which operatories that the provider should show as available, or select all
In the List View, click on the plus icon next to each weekday to set available time blocks for the selected provider for each selected operatory
Add multiple time blocks to each day by clicking on the plus icon to allow for recurring meetings, lunch times, etc.
Click on the X next to a time block to remove the block from the provider's schedule
Be sure to click Save to apply your schedule before navigating away
Click on the Calendar View to make changes to specific dates or set recurring schedule rules. Click on a date and choose from the following options:
Edit date: Edit the provider schedule for the specific date that you have clicked on
Edit every [day]: Edit the provider schedule to be the same every week on that day of the week (ie, the provider schedule will be the same every Monday)
Edit every other [day]: Edit the provider schedule to be the same every other week on that day of the week (ie, the provider schedule will be the same every other Monday)
When finished, click Save
Be sure to review the schedule for every provider before enabling Availability rules in Dental Intelligence.
Enable Provider Availability Settings in Dental Intelligence
After you’ve finished setting up all provider schedules in Dental Intelligence, the next step is to enable Availability. This ensures that patients can only book appointments during the actual open time slots that have been configured for each provider.
To read provider schedules as they have been set in Dental Intelligence and override the schedules set in your practice management software (PMS), navigate to Schedule > Configuration > Availability.
Then, toggle on Override providers schedule from the PMS. When the switch turns green, it means Dental Intelligence is now using the provider schedules configured within the platform instead of those from your PMS.
