In addition to setting up provider availability directly within Dental Intelligence, you can also set up specific blocks that allow you to tailor the schedule to restrict or allow specific services.

Create a Time Block in Dental Intelligence Online Scheduling

  1. In the left side menu of Dental Intelligence, click on Scheduling > Configuration > Time Blocks

  2. To create a new block, click the Create block button

  3. Name the block

  4. Select the operatories and days of the week that the block should be applied to

  5. Set the block time period

  6. Set the date range that the block should be applied to (choosing an end date is optional)

  7. Next, choose the scheduling or service type rules that should apply to the block:

    1. Don't allow scheduling: Restrict patients from booking appointments when this block is on the schedule

    2. Selected service(s) only: Only allow patients to book appointments for the selected service types when this block is on the schedule

    3. Selected service(s) but others OK too: Allow patients to book appointments for the selected service types as well as other service types that have not been selected

  8. When finished, click Create

To edit an existing block, click on the pencil icon. To delete a block, click on the trashcan icon.

Enable Time Blocks Settings in Dental Intelligence

After you’ve finished setting up time blocks in Dental Intelligence, the next step is to enable these blocks on your schedule. This ensures that patients book appointments during the time blocks that have been configured.

To read time blocks as they have been set in Dental Intelligence and override the blocks set in your practice management software (PMS), navigate to Schedule > Configuration > Time Blocks.

Then, toggle on Override from the PMS. When the switch turns green, it means Dental Intelligence is now using the time blocks configured within the platform instead of those set from your PMS.

Once enabled, time blocks will show on the LiveOps® schedule.
