Gone are the days where you have to scribble down a bunch of treatment and payment options for patients to mull over after their free consult.
Instead, set up this beautiful tool that patients can play with at home, to find the exact right option (and monthly payment π ).
Creating Treatment Profiles and Payment Options
When you click Settings >> Case Presentation, you'll see two lists, Treatments and Payment Options.
Adding Treatments
Click New Treatment:
(click photos to enlarge)
This will open a form that will allow you to add a standard treatment type:
Let's talk about your options:
Treatment name: Use clear labels that indicate what type of treatment this is - ex: Adult Braces vs. Kids, Invisalign, etc.
Fee: Name your price! This will be the standard fee but can be customized or adjusted on an individual basis (more on that later).
Length of Treatment (months): How long does this typically take? Set a range.
Discounts: You can set up discounts that will be automatically applied to everyone - you can remove them on an individual basis.
β
Even if you don't add general discounts here, you can manually add them when customizing an individual's plan too (keep reading π ).
To add a discount, click New Discount:
You can set the discount to be a dollar amount discount or set a %:
You can add multiple discounts, or create multiple Treatment options with separate discount options!
Add-ons: Click New add-on if you'd like to add additional upgrades or options:
You can specify if the add-on is a set dollar amount or a %, just like with discounts!
Notes: You can specify what type of patient this plan is intended for, or note that it is a Treatment special that was offered in a specific ad, etc.
Click Save.
Payment Options
This will open a window where you can fill in details about this payment option:
Options:
Payment Name: Lable your payment option (ex: Standard, Pay in full, etc)
Pay In Full: When you select this, all other options will be disabled, besides Discounts and Add-ons (if someone pays in full, maybe you'd like to give them a little perk π )
Interest: If you want to add interest when financing, tell me how much you want it to be, but don't add "%" - just tell me the number (ex: type 2, which would be 2%).
Length (Months): What is the minimum/maximum number of months that they can take to pay it off (ex: 1-12 months). This will impact their monthly payment.
Monthly Minimum: You don't have to set this but you can determine a minimum.
Down Payment: What is the minimum/maximum amount a patient can give you as a down payment?
Discounts & Add-Ons: These work exactly the same way they do when setting up a Treatment (see above)!
Payments Calculator
Once you've created Treatment and Payment options, you can run a test to see the payment calculator in action!
Click Launch Test:
This will open your options - choose at least 1 of each, or choose multiple treatments and payment options so you can see all of your options:
If you add an Insurance estimate, I will figure that into the calculations and subtract that amount from the total.
Click Launch to see the payment calculator:
The drop-down list at the top will list any treatment options that you selected so you can do a payment comparison between treatment types.
As you can see in the "Pay in Full" option, there is an automatic 10% discount applied (which was set up in that payment settings).
In the Standard option, you can calculate the monthly payment that will work for your patient by adjusting how many months to pay it over, the amount of their down payment, and how much they are financing.
Ex: They don't want to pay more than $500/mo, but only can pay the minimum down payment ($1000 in this case), increase the time to pay it off to 10 months:
You can customize this as much as you need to in order to find the right balance for your patient.
