Driver Allocation System for Orders

Updated over 3 months ago

Configuration Options

You can configure driver notification preferences under Settings β†’ Configurations β†’ Driver. The platform offers two primary options for driver allocation notification:

Option 1: Notification Upon Store Acceptance

When this option is enabled, the system will automatically notify all available drivers in the vicinity as soon as the store accepts an order. The first driver to accept the notification will be assigned to the order.

Recommended for: Food delivery businesses where immediate driver assignment is crucial for maintaining food quality and ensuring timely delivery.

Option 2: Notification Upon "Ready for Delivery" Status

With this option, the system waits to notify nearby drivers until the store changes the order status to "Ready for Delivery." This ensures drivers aren't waiting unnecessarily while food is being prepared.

Recommended for: Grocery delivery businesses and other retail scenarios where preparation time may vary significantly, and products are less time-sensitive.

Schedule Orders

For scheduled orders (orders placed in advance for future delivery), the system follows a specific protocol regardless of your configuration setting:

  • The system will always send notifications to available drivers when the store changes the order status to "Ready for Delivery."

  • This approach ensures that scheduled orders are assigned to drivers at the appropriate time, regardless of how far in advance they were placed.
