How to Get a Facebook Developer Account for Apps?

Step 1: Visit the Facebook Developer Portal

  • Go to the Facebook Developer Portal

  • Click on "Get Started" in the top-right corner

Step 2: Log In to Your Facebook Account

  • Use your existing Facebook account or create a new one

  • If prompted, verify your identity via email or phone

Step 3: Accept the Developer Terms

  • Review and accept Facebook's Developer Policies and Terms

  • Click "Create Developer Account" to proceed

Step 4: Create a New App

  • Click on "My Apps" in the top-right menu

  • Click "Create App" and select the appropriate app type (e.g., Business, Gaming, or Consumer)

  • Enter the App Name, Contact Email, and other required details

  • Click "Create App ID" and complete the security verification

Step 5: Configure App Settings

  • Navigate to Settings > Basic to set up your app's details

  • Add a Privacy Policy URL (required for public apps)

  • Select a Category for your app

Step 6: Set Up Facebook Login (If Required)

  • Go to Products and click "Set Up" under Facebook Login

  • Follow the on-screen instructions to configure login settings for Web, Android, or iOS

Step 7: Verify Your Business (If Required)

  • If your app requires advanced permissions, you may need to verify your business

  • Navigate to Business Settings > Business Verification and follow the process

Step 8: Get Your App ID & Secret

  • Under Settings > Basic, you will find your App ID and App Secret

  • Click "Show" next to App Secret and verify with your Facebook password

Step 9: Submit for App Review (If Needed)

  • If you're requesting advanced permissions (e.g., email, public profile), submit your app for review

  • Provide details on how your app uses Facebook's features
