Prerequisites

  • Access to Firebase Console

  • Project already set up in Firebase

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Access Firebase Console

2. Select Your Project

  • Choose your project from the Firebase Console dashboard

  • If you have multiple projects, ensure you select the correct one

3. Navigate to Cloud Messaging

  • Look for the "Engage" section in the left sidebar menu

  • Click on "Cloud Messaging"

4. Create New Notification

  • Click the "New Notification" button

  • You'll be taken to the notification creation wizard

5. Configure Notification Content

  • Enter a clear, concise notification title

  • Write your notification message/description

  • Click "Next" to proceed

6. Set Target Audience

  • Select the target application(s)

  • Available options include:

    • Customer App

    • Driver App

    • Partner App

  • You can select multiple apps if needed

  • Click "Next" when finished

7. Schedule Your Notification

  • Choose when to send your notification:

    • "Send now" for immediate delivery

    • Schedule for a specific date and time

  • Click "Next" to continue

8. Additional Options (Optional)

  • Review additional customization options

  • These steps can be skipped if not needed

  • Click "Next" to proceed to review

9. Review and Publish

  • Carefully verify all notification details:

    • Title and message

    • Target apps

    • Scheduling

    • Any custom settings

  • Click "Publish" to send the notification

Delivery Time

Users should receive the push notification within a few seconds after publishing. Monitor the Firebase Console for delivery statistics and any potential errors.

  • Keep notification titles short and engaging

  • Ensure message content is clear and valuable

  • Test notifications with a small audience first

  • Consider time zones when scheduling notifications

  • Monitor notification performance through Firebase Analytics
