How to Remove Vendors/Restaurants from Your Platform

Updated over a week ago

You cannot permanently delete vendors or restaurants from your Deonde platform. However, you can make them inactive, which will hide them from customers while preserving all your business data.

Making a Vendor Inactive

What happens when a vendor is inactive?

When you set a vendor to inactive status:

  • The restaurant will not appear on your storefront website

  • Customers cannot see it in mobile apps

  • No new orders can be placed from that restaurant

  • All historical data remains preserved in your system

  • You can reactivate the vendor at any time

Steps to make a vendor inactive:

  1. Access your admin panel

    • Log into your Deonde admin dashboard

  2. Navigate to vendors

    • Go to the "Vendors" or "Restaurants" section

  3. Select the vendor

    • Find and click on the vendor you want to remove

  4. Change status

    • Locate the "Status" field at top right corner (Please find attached Image)

    • Change from "Active" to "Inactive"

    • Click "Save" to apply changes

The vendor will immediately be hidden from all customer-facing platforms.

Why We Use Inactive Status Instead of Deletion

Permanently deleting vendor data can cause significant issues for your business:

Problems with permanent deletion:

  • Loss of order history and transaction records

  • Missing customer reviews and ratings data

  • Inability to generate historical reports

  • Complications with accounting and tax records

  • Permanent data loss with no recovery option

Benefits of inactive status:

  • Complete data preservation

  • Ability to reactivate vendors if they return

  • Maintained business records for reporting

  • Better compliance with record-keeping requirements

When to Make Vendors Inactive

Consider making a vendor inactive in these situations:

  • Vendor has permanently closed their business

  • Temporary closure or break in service

  • Quality or performance issues that need resolution

  • Contract termination or business disputes

  • Vendor has relocated outside your service area

Reactivating a Vendor

To bring back an inactive vendor:

  1. Access your admin panel

  2. Navigate to the vendors section

  3. Find the inactive vendor in your list

  4. Change status from "Inactive" to "Active"

  5. Save your changes

The vendor will immediately become visible to customers again.
