Checking In

Everything you need to know about checking in to your site!

Camground Policies

When guests book their reservation, they will be asked to acknowledge our Campground Policies. Guests who book direct will do this as part of their booking process. Airbnb, VRBO, and other guests will do it through the Guest Portal.

Arrival

  • Check-in is 4pm unless you have paid for early check-in or we have sent you a message saying you can arrive early.

  • You can drive straight to your site when it is time! You do not have to stop in at the Welcome Center. In fact, we do not have a campground office per se. The Welcome Center and the Desert of Maine are a separate business.

  • Generally speaking we like guests to arrive before 10pm because that is when quiet hours begin. If you arrive after 10pm, please be as quiet as possible. For example, do not slam car doors, talk loudly, or shine your headlights on another site.

  • The code to your cabin or dome will be sent as soon as it is time for you to arrive! Glamping tents do not have a lock or a code to worry about.

Early Check-in

If you will be in the area before 4pm and you would like to start your stay early, we offer two options for early check-in:

Priority Early Check-in ($50)

Priority Early Check-in is if you really want to get here early. We clean our Priority Early Check-in's first and we prevent the previous guest from getting a late checkout. It guarantees we can start cleaning your site by 10am at the latest. We limit the number of Priority Early Check-in's we offer so we don't have too many. We aim to have them all done by 1pm but it varies. We will send you a message as soon as your site is ready! You can arrange this from our Guest Portal.

Early Check-in ($25)

Standard Early Check-in is a great option if you will be in the area early but you don't necessarily need to get in by late morning / lunch. Our housekeeping team will prioritize cleaning your site after the few Priority Early Check-in's. The exact time your site will be ready depends on various factors such as the number of other people that have requested early check-in that day and whether the previous guest has requested late checkout, but almost certainly by 3pm.

As soon as your site is ready, you will receive a message letting you know you can come on down! Please do not arrive before 4pm if you haven't received the message that your site is ready.
