Step 1: Install the Extension

In your DesignFiles account, click on the "Me" dropdown (top-right corner) and select "Get Product Clipper".

  • On the Clipper page, click on the button that says "Install The Product Clipper".

  • You’ll be redirected to the DesignFiles Product Clipper in the Chrome Web Store.

  • Click Add to Chrome → then confirm by clicking Add Extension when prompted.

  • Once installed, you will be redirected to this page within your DesignFiles account and a message confirming the Clipper was installed.

📌 Step 2: Pin the Clipper to Your Browser

If the DesignFiles icon isn’t visible right away in your Chrome Toolbar:

  • Click the puzzle piece icon in your Chrome toolbar.

  • Find DesignFiles Product Clipper in the list.

  • Click the pin icon so it stays visible at all times.

🛒 Step 3: Clip Products from Any Vendor Website

  • Visit any vendor site.

  • Click the DesignFiles Clipper icon in your Chrome toolbar.

The Clipper panel will open on the right side of your screen, as usual.

From here, you can choose how to grab images:

  • Image Picker: Click the product image directly on the page.

  • Screen Grab: Drag a box around the area you want to capture.

  • Right-Click: Select DesignFiles Product Clipper → choose Primary Image or Additional Image.

🗂 Step 4: Add Details and Save

After the image appears in your Clipper panel, you can:

    • Edit or rename the Product Name (use a generic name if you prefer).

    • Review the Vendor, Price, and Link.

    • Add categories, tags, or designer notes to stay organized.

    • Enter your designer price or client-facing price—DesignFiles automatically calculates markup.

    • Add optional details like dimensions, shipping, lead time, or internal notes.

Where you see the 'picker' icon, you can click on the information for it to autofill in the category

Click Save Item when you’re done and see the item, plus all the pictures and item details you saved in your Product Library, ready to drop into your project docs and designs.
