Accessing the Template Hub

1. Open the Template Hub

Navigate to Templates in the main navigation bar and click to open.

Once inside, choose from one of three template categories:

  • Presentations

  • Questionnaires

  • Contracts

2. Preview or Use a Template

Hover over any template to reveal two options:

  • Preview – view all slides/pages included

  • Use Template – apply the template directly to a project

Choosing Preview opens a scrollable panel where you can view the entire template.
If you decide to use the template after previewing it, you can select Use Template from within the preview.

3. Applying a Template

When applying a Presentation or Contract template, DesignFiles will prompt you to select a project to apply it to. Questionnaire templates are applied directly to your project Questionnaires in Settings. You can then add it to specific projects from within the project itself.

Once you select a Presentation template, the Moodboard Editor opens.
On the right-hand panel, you’ll see all slides included within the chosen template.

At this point, you can do one of the following:

  • Click Insert all boards to load all slides at once, or

  • Click individual slides to add them selectively

Slides you add appear in your Boards panel at the bottom.

Customizing Your Templates

Every template is meant to be fully branded to your business, so you have the ability to customize them in a number of ways:

1. Edit Text

Click any text block to open the Text Panel, where you can change fonts, adjust size and spacing, as well as edit colors (including pasting your brand HEX codes)
Click on any text field to automatically load the text panel options.

2. Change Background Colors

If a template already has a background color, you can modify it.

  1. Double-click the background to unlock it (or click the unlock icon in the toolbar).

  2. Open the Paint Color Library on the right.

  3. Drag a new paint color or texture to the slide.

You can also adjust:

  • Transparency

  • Brightness

  • Contrast

  • Saturation

  • Blur
    using the Style Settings panel.

Just ensure to still have the background selected and unlocked.

If it doesn't have an existing background, you can still open the paint library, drag a swatch out, and position it to the back to create your background color.

Saving Customized Slides as Your Own Templates

One of the most powerful features is the ability to save your customized slides as reusable templates.

To save a slide:

  1. Click Templates in the top toolbar.

  2. Choose Save as Template.

  3. Give it a name (e.g., “Custom Table of Contents”).

  4. Save it to your Templates library.

If you’d like to see these steps demonstrated visually, take a look at the video guide below.
