Managing the Sales Tax Settings

Overview

In this article, you will learn how to create, update, and remove sales taxes. The Sales Tax Settings page enables you to manage new and existing sales taxes. Setting these taxes provides a seamless process when creating quotes and invoices as you can instantly access them through the Tax menu.

Create New Sales Tax

This section will guide you on how to create a new sales tax under the Sales Tax Settings page. It is worth noting that you can also create sales tax when creating quotes or invoices.

1. Find and click the Account Menu and select Settings. You will be directed to the Account Settings page.

 2. On this page, you can update your DesignFiles’ account details and configuration.

 3. Click the SALES TAX tab to access the Sales Tax Settings page.

 4. Click the New Sales Tax button to create a new sales tax.

 5. This opens the New Sales Tax window. In this window specify the sales tax details:

  • Tax Name: enter the sales tax name/description.

  • Rate Name: enter the sales tax rate name.

  • Agency Name: enter the agency name that is responsible for collecting the sales tax.

  • Rate (%): enter the appropriate sales rate tax in percentage.

Note: to add another tax rate, click the + Add tax rate button and follow the same steps to specify the sales tax details.

 6. After specifying all the sales tax details, click Save Sales Tax to continue creating the tax.

Edit Sales Tax

This section will guide you on how to update/edit existing sales taxes.

1. Find and click the Account Menu and select Settings. You will be directed to the Account Settings page.

 2. On this page, you can update your DesignFiles’ account details and configuration.

 3. Click the SALES TAX tab to access the Sales Tax Settings page.

 4. Find the sales tax that you want to update from the sales tax list and click its Edit icon under the Actions column.

 5. The Edit Sales Tax window will appear. Update all the necessary information and click Update Sales Tax to save the changes

Remove Sales Tax

This section will guide you on how to remove/delete existing sales taxes.

1. Find and click the Account Menu and select Settings. You will be directed to the Account Settings page.

 2. On this page, you can update your DesignFiles’ account details and configuration.

 3. Click the SALES TAX tab to access the Sales Tax Settings page.

 4. Find the sales tax that you want to delete from the sales tax list and click its Delete icon under the Actions column.

 5. A Confirmation dialog box will appear. Click OK to continue deleting the selected Sales Tax.
