Overview

In this article, you will learn how to update the client questionnaire. This questionnaire serves as the basis of your design. All information that the client provides is critical to achieving their desired designs. By default, DesignFiles sets up the questionnaire content enabling you or your client to select from preset choices.

 1. On the Menu, click Projects and select the project that you want to update the questionnaire from.

 2. Click QUESTIONNAIRE to open the Project Details window.

 3. Click the Update Questionnaire button. You will be directed to the Questionnaire page.

 4. On this page, there are 15 questionnaire questions that you can set up for your client. We listed all the questions for your reference:

  • What room are you helping your client with? -  this question lets you select the room that you are working on.

  • Why are they redesigning the space? - this question lets you specify the reason why your client wants to redesign the space. You can select multiple reasons that apply.

  • How finished is their space? -  this question lets you specify the status of the selected space.

  • Which of their existing furniture pieces are staying? - this question lets you enumerate existing furniture that the client would like to retain.

  • What new products would they like to add to the space? - this question lets you enumerate new products that the client would like to add to the selected space.

  • What are their timelines for the design stage? -  this question lets you indicate the client’s preferred timeline for the design stage.

  • What is their budget for purchasing products? -  this question lets you indicate the client’s budget for purchasing products.

  • What is your client’s style? - this question lets you select your client’s style preference. You can select multiple styles that apply.

  • What should the mood of the space be? - this question lets you select your client’s preferred mood for the selected space. You can select multiple moods that apply.

  • What are their favorite stores for furniture & decor? - this question lets you add your client’s favorite stores for furniture & decor.

  • Share inspiration images or links that reflect your style - this question lets you add images or links that reflect the client’s style.

  • What are their color preferences? -  this question lets you choose the client’s preferred color scheme.

  • Do they have any specific colors they’d like to see in the space? - this question lets you add a specific color that the client would like to have in the selected space.

  • Provide measurements & photos of their space - this question lets you add measurements and/or photos of the client’s space.

  • Who does your client share their space with - this question lets you select who shares with your client’s space. You can select multiple choices that apply.

  • Do they rent or own? - this question lets you specify whether your client owns or rents the space.

  • What kind of home do they live in? - this question lets you specify what kind of home your client lives in.

  • Add any final notes for your consideration -  this question lets you add notes or additional questions.

 5. After updating the questionnaire, click the Update Questionnaire button to save the changes.

How do I send/resend the questionnaire to the client?

In this section, you will learn how to send/resend the client questionnaire. If there is a need for the client to update or review the existing questionnaire, you can use this option to send/resend the questionnaire.

 1. On the Menu, click Projects and select the project that you want to update the questionnaire from.

 2. Click QUESTIONNAIRE to open the Project Details window.

 3. Click the Ask Client to Update Questionnaire button. The Request Client to Fill Out the Questionnaire dialog box will appear.

 4. By default, your client’s email address will appear in the email address field. If there are multiple email addresses, click the drop-down arrow to select the client’s preferred email.
 5. In the Add a custom message field, enter a brief message or note why you want your client to fill out the questionnaire.

 6. Click the Send Questionnaire Request button to send the request.
