Adding/Removing Crown Moldings to your 3D Design

In this article, you will learn how to add and/or remove crown moldings using the Floorplan / 3D Renderer.

Adding Crown Moldings

In this section, you will learn how to add crown moldings to your design.

1. Open the Floorplan / 3D Renderer Editor and select the Room that you want to add the crown moldings.

2. After selecting the room, click the Doors, Windows & Trim tab.

3. Click the Crown Molding panel to display the available moldings for selection. The number beside the Crown Molding label indicates the number of molding designs that you can choose from.

4. Find the molding that you want to add and click its Plus (+) icon to select.

5. Point and click the cursor to the wall where you want to add the moldings.

6. A Confirmation dialog box will appear. Select the next action to take by clicking the appropriate button:

  • This room: selecting this option will add the selected molding to all the walls in the current room of the Floor Plan, no other room will be updated with the molding.

  • All Walls: selecting this option will add the selected molding to all the walls on the Floor Plan.

  • Selected Wall: selecting this option will only add the molding to the selected wall within the room.

7. Click Save to update the design.

Removing Crown Moldings

In this section, you will learn how to remove crown moldings from your design. This method comes in handy when replacing the crown molding as you need to remove them first before adding a different one.

1. Open the Floorplan / 3D Renderer Editor and select the Room that you want to remove the added crown moldings.

2. After selecting the room, click the Doors, Windows & Trim tab.

3. Click the Crown Molding panel to display more options.

4. Click the Remove Crown Molding’s Plus (+) icon, this is the first option in the Crown Molding panel.

5. Point and click the cursor to the wall where the crown molding is located.

6. A Confirmation dialog box will appear. Select the next action to take by clicking the appropriate button:

  • This Room: selecting this option will remove the selected crown molding from only the walls in the current room, no other room of the Floor Plan will be affected.

  • All Walls: selecting this option will remove the selected crown molding from all the walls on the Floor Plan.

  • Selected Wall: selecting this option will only remove the crown molding from the selected wall.

7. Click Save to update the design.
