Facts To Consider Before Creating a Flipbook - MUST READ

Before you create any flipbook in Designrr you need to understand how flipbooks work. The flipbook is created from a PDF file as a source, is a 1 to 1 mirror of your PDF. Flipbooks cannot be edited.

A flipbook is not an ebook, is another way to read a PDF. Therefore, flipbooks cannot be downloaded. They must be hosted on a server.

The flipbooks generated with Designrr do not play videos or audio files.

IMPORTANT: The PDF to Flipbook import option does not create Designrr projects, only the flipbook on its own. Any future change in the flipbook has to be done in the PDF used and edited on your end. The new version of the PDF has to be uploaded again and it will have new flipbook id.

1. Import the PDF

In the dashboard, click on the 'Create A New Project' button. In the new window, select your import option. In this case click on 'PDF TO FLIPBOOK'.

In the next window you have two options: if your PDF is hosted somewhere online (your website, dropbox, etc.) enter the full URL to the PDF.

If your PDF is in your computer, click on 'Upload from disk' navigate to the PDF file and select it. You should see a loading bar and...

The following message...

Once the flipbook is generated, you will see a pop up window confirming that the Flipbook  is created. You can click on the link to see the flipbook or you can go back to the dashboard and open the flipbook from there. Depending on how many projects you have in your dashboard, you will have to scroll down to the 'Flipbook Projects' section.

2. Flipbook Projects

In the 'Flipbooks' section find the flipbook thumbnails. Hover the mouse over the cover and click on the 'Open Flipbook' blue button.

The flipbook will open in a new Tab/Window. If you just want the flipbook URL, you can copy it from the browser toolbar and share.

It should look similar to this:

3. Generate The Flipbook Embed Code Automatically

In the 'Flipbook' section hover the mouse over the flipbook's thumbnail, click on the three dots to open the menu and and click on 'Generate Flipbook Embed Code'.

A popup window will open and there you can find the embedding code that can be used to easily place the flipbook on your website. There is no need to change the default width and height values.

You simply need to click on the blue button, 'Copy', and the embed code is automatically copied to your computer's clipboard. Now you can paste the code on an empty page or any other page on your website.

The default values are fine for most users, but notice that you can resize the flipbook and disable the option to share the flipbook and download the PDF.

4. Disable Sharing and Download

Before you share you flipbook you have to decide if you want to let your readers share the flipbook or download the PDF used to generate the PDF.

In case that you want to disable those options, you can easily do it from the 'Account Settings' section. Once activated, those options will be removed from your flipbook toolbar.

5. Sharing Your Flipbook On Your Website Or Social Media page

In step number 2, we copied the flipbook URL (tip:  paste it on a text file). We ended with  this link: https://designrr.page/?id=95721&token=1908842099&type=FP&h=4388

If you want to share your flipbook on your social media accounts, paste that link on the post box...

and publish.

If you want to share your ebook on your website or blog, embed the flipbook link in a HTML code like the example below and paste it on your site (hint: use a sidebar text widget)

<a href="https://book.designrr.co/?id=15044&token=2695082348">MyAwesome Book!</a>

Tip: WordPress users can use a free plugin like Pretty Link and share that link instead.
