Prerequisites
All specs must already exist in the project before linking.
Steps
Open the parent spec (e.g., a custom bench)
Go to the Link Specs tab
View the list of link types (customizable)
Select a spec for each link type: Example: Arm Upholstery → Select a fabric spec; Example: Back Upholstery → Select same or different fabric; Example: Hardware → Select decorative nail heads; Example: Wood Finish → Select a finish spec
Enter quantity per parent item (e.g., yards of fabric per bench)
Ensure units match (e.g., yards for both quantities)
Click Save
On Reports
When you print the Full Page Spec, thumbnails of all linked specs appear on the parent spec page.
Link Types
The list of available link types is customizable in Global Settings. Common examples: Upholstery, Wood Finish, Hardware, Trim, Glass
Tips
Leave quantity blank if not applicable
You can link the same spec to multiple parents
Linked specs copy over when using "Copy with linked specs" option
