How to Add an Extra Service in DeskManager

To enhance the booking experience for your guests or employees, DeskManager allows you to offer additional services known as "extra services". These services can be booked alongside a regular reservation and can include options such as catering services. This article will guide you through the process of adding an extra service in DeskManager.

To get started, follow these steps:

Begin by accessing the DeskManager dashboard. From there, navigate to the left-hand menu and click on "Equipment & Services". In the dropdown menu that appears, select "Add a Service" from the options provided.

You will now be presented with a form where you can enter the details of the new service. Follow the instructions below to complete the process:

  1. Start by entering the name of the service. This should be a descriptive title that clearly represents the service you are offering.

  2. Next, specify the category to which the service belongs. If you don't have a category, you can add one by clicking on "Service Categories" in the dropdown menu. From there, use the green "Add Category" button in the top right corner to create a new category. Once created, you can select it for the extra service.

  3. Provide an email address where notifications for bookings of this service should be sent. This ensures that you are promptly notified when a guest or employee requests the extra service.

  4. To activate or deactivate the service, use the checkbox labeled "Active". Selecting the checkbox means the service is active and available for booking, while unchecking it will deactivate the service.

  5. Specify the booking deadline for the service. This determines how much time in advance the service needs to be booked. For example, if you want to offer a coffee service that requires a one-hour advance booking, guests or employees would need to reserve it at least one hour before they want to receive it.

  6. Optionally, you can add any additional notes or special instructions for the service. This can include details about customization options, preferences, or any other relevant information.

  7. In the "Pricing" section, set the price for the service and choose the appropriate unit. For instance, if the service is a single coffee, enter the price per item. You can also apply a discount if desired.

  8. On the right-hand side, specify the maximum quantity of this service that can be booked in a single day. This ensures that you can manage the availability of the service effectively.

  9. If you want you can add a picture of the service at the top of the page.

  10. Once you have entered all the necessary information, click on the "Add & Save" button at the bottom of the page to successfully add the service to DeskManager.

    By following these steps, you can easily add extra services to DeskManager, providing your guests or employees with additional options and amenities to enhance their booking experience.
