In the Resources Overview, you learned about all the different ways resources can be used to create rich forms leveraging dynamic data. When forms using resources are being filled out, these resources may change, especially if resources are updated often.

Resource Updates Dialog

When a resource is updated, the Mobile Forms App will display a message to the user informing them that one or more resources are updated:

iOS

Android

The user can choose when they want this update to apply since it will affect the form they are currently working on. They can also ignore the message and submit the current form without applying the update. The next time a form is started it will automatically use the new updates.

When the update is applied, all of the answers the user has made that are associated with the updated resources will be flagged for review. Unlike questions with Required Rules, fields that have been flagged during a resource update do not require any action on behalf of the user. This message is just to inform the user that the field may have changed since they answered the question so they can review the answer before submitting the form.

Here is what the item review will look like:

iOS

Android

Note: It is possible to set your account to block all dynamic resource updates. If you would like to set your account up this way, just reach out to support.

Resource Versioning is not currently supported on the Web Forms app. When the form is opened all resources are downloaded at that time. Changes made to those resources while the form is open will not be applied unless the user refreshes the form and starts over.
