The Azure Blob Storage App connects your Dexi Account to Microsoft's Azure Blob Storage, enabling you to use it in Pipes or via Triggers.

Before you can use the Azure Blob Storage App you will need to create a Storage Account of account kind “StorageV2 (general purpose V2)” in your Microsoft Azure Portal. Ensure a “Storage Blob Data Contributor” role assignment is granted to this account. For more information and help on Storage Accounts, the Microsoft documentation is a great resource and may be found here

To activate the Azure Blob Storage App within your Dexi Account, simply navigate to "Apps" from the left-hand navigation menu:

Click-on the Azure Blob Storage App and then click "Add" in the pop-up sidepanel:

A new "Configure app" pop-up window will be displayed:

You will now enter details that will enable the Azure Blob Storage App to connect to your Azure portal and Storage Account.

First, we need to connect to your Azure portal and be granted the relevant permissions. Select "Click to connect account" in section "Azure" .

A Microsoft "Sign In" pop-up page will be displayed:

Please enter your relevant details and, after selecting "Next",  your password, before finally proceeding to the "Stay signed in?" section. Here you may select  "Yes" or "No" as your response does not affect the App. More information maybe be found here.
You may also be asked to grant permission for the App to have access to your Azure Portal. If you are, select "Yes"

Once permission has been granted, the Microsoft "Sign In" pop-up window will disappear and you will be back on the "Configure app" pop-up window. You will find your account info has been added.

Now you will need to enter the name of your Storage Account. Ensure that it is the Storage Account that has a “Storage Blob Data Contributor” role assignment.

The next value to enter is the "Blob Container Name".  It is not necessary that the Blob Container has already been created.

The final value to enter is "Blob default path". This is the Blob, and it is not necessary that it currently exists. Ensure the forward slash "/" proceeds the name of the Blob.

Once done, confirm all is OK by selecting "Test Configuration". If all OK, your can then select "Create". The Azure Blob Storage App is now available for you to use.

If the test configuration fails, please recheck entered values. If entered values are correct, the issue could be due to the permission level set for the Storage Account. In this instance the Dexi team will be pleased to assist in resolving the issue.

Troubleshooting

When "Test Configuration" is failing while adding a trigger or adding a pipe action

Try to reconnect the azure app in "Apps in your account". Edit the azure app and disconnect the Azure user. Once connected back, confirm all is OK by selecting "Test Configuration". If all OK, you can then select "Update". The app is ready to use.

If the test configuration fails, please recheck entered values of "Storage Account name", "Blob Container name". If entered values are correct then the issue could be due to the permission level set for the Storage Account.

When "Test Configuration" is successful but failing to perform Read/Write operation

Ensure “Storage Blob Data Contributor” role assignment is granted for the user you are using with the Dexi integration. Once granted, try again to set up an app under "Apps in your account".
