Messaging isn’t available in trial accounts. This ensures reliable message delivery, compliance with carrier requirements, and protection against unverified traffic.
If you need to test messaging, you can upgrade early to unlock channels and complete the required verification steps.
Messaging limitations
Channel | Trial | Why it’s limited | How to enable after upgrade |
SMS to US/Canada | Not available | Requires verified A2P 10DLC registration | Upgrade and complete verification |
RCS | Not available | Enterprise-only feature for branded messaging | Upgrade to an Enterprise plan and complete brand verification |
WhatsApp for Business | Not available | Requires a verified WhatsApp for Business account and active integration | Upgrade and connect your WhatsApp for Business account |
Why these limits exist
Some limits are in place because carriers require a verified business identity (Trust profile and A2P 10DLC) before sending messages to US and Canadian numbers. Other channels, like RCS and WhatsApp, are designed to work only with verified businesses. Restrictions in trial accounts also help prevent spam and misuse from unverified users.
Note. If messaging to the US/Canada is critical for your business, consider upgrading early so you can complete the required verification steps.
