Information required for A2P 10DLC registration

Updated this week

To complete A2P 10DLC registration, US carriers require businesses to provide basic identity and contact information. This information is used to verify the sender, prevent fraud, and enforce messaging policies.

This article explains what information you may be asked to provide during registration and how to avoid common issues.

1. Business or tax information

Businesses with a Tax ID (EIN)

If your business has a US Employer Identification Number (EIN), provide it in the EIN field during registration. Registering with an EIN typically allows higher messaging limits and greater flexibility when using phone numbers for messaging.

Sole proprietors or individuals without an EIN

If you do not have an EIN, you can register as a sole proprietor. In this case:

  • No business tax ID is required.

  • Messaging limits are lower.

  • Only one phone number can be used for messaging to US numbers.

Registration as a sole proprietor is supported by US carriers but is subject to stricter limitations.

2. Email address

You must provide a valid, non-disposable email address. US carriers use this email address to:

  • verify your identity,

  • contact you if additional information is required.

Important. The same email address can be used up to 10 times across all A2P registrations with The Campaign Registry (TCR).

3. Phone number

You must provide a properly formatted phone number. This can be:

  • a landline,

  • a mobile number,

  • another valid phone number type.

This number is used for identity verification and carrier records.

4. Mobile number for OTP verification

You must also provide a valid US or Canadian mobile number to receive a one-time password (OTP). Requirements:

  • The number must be able to receive SMS.

  • The number cannot be provided by a SaaS or VoIP provider such as DialLink.

  • The same mobile number can be used up to 3 times across all A2P registrations with TCR.

Note. You may use the same number for both the Phone number and Mobile number fields, as long as it meets all of the requirements above.

4. Address

You must provide a valid US or Canadian address. Address requirements:

  • PO boxes are allowed.

  • The same address can be used up to 10 times across A2P registrations.

This address is used for carrier verification and compliance purposes.

Common reasons for registration issues

Registration may be delayed or rejected if:

  • The provided information is incomplete or inconsistent.

  • The email address or mobile number has exceeded reuse limits.

  • A VoIP number is used for OTP verification.

  • The address does not meet carrier requirements.

If your application is rejected, you can correct the information and resubmit it from your DialLink workspace.
