How To Enable Geolocation Tagging on Phone or Camera?

Enabling geolocation tagging ensures that your photos are automatically assigned location data, making it easier to use features like Magic Auto-Assign in DAS. Follow the steps below to enable geotagging on your Android device, iPhone, or digital camera.

📱 Enabling Geolocation on Phones

Android Devices

  1. Enable Location Services:

    • Open Settings > Location

    • Toggle Location to On

    • Tap App Permissions and ensure Camera has location access

  2. Enable Location Tagging in Camera App:

    • Open the Camera app

    • Tap the Settings (⚙️) icon

    • Look for Save Location, Geotag Photos, or Location Tags and enable it

  3. Confirm Geotagging is Active:

    • Take a photo and open it in the Gallery or Google Photos

    • Swipe up or tap Details to check if location data is recorded


iPhone (iOS Devices)

  1. Enable Location Services:

    • Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services

    • Ensure Location Services is On

  2. Enable Location for the Camera App:

    • Scroll down to Camera

    • Select While Using the App or Always

    • Ensure Precise Location is enabled

  3. Verify Geotagging is Enabled:

    • Take a photo and open it in the Photos app

    • Swipe up or tap Info (ⓘ) to check for location data
