If you’re seeing the message “No data is currently mapped at this location” when hovering over a property, it likely means the area falls outside of DAS’s supported dataset.
🗺️ Why is this happening?
The DAS Rural Platform focuses exclusively on rural land in Australia. As part of our licensing agreements, properties located within Significant Urban Areas (as defined by the ABS) are not included in our system. These urban zones typically include major towns and cities.
If your property falls within one of these areas, you won’t be able to:
Click on the property to open a data panel
Build a custom farm
Generate reports or access mapped layers
✅ How to check if your property is in a Significant Urban Area
You can use the ABS Maps website to check whether your property lies within a Significant Urban Area:
Open the map tool.
Turn on Significant Urban Area boundaries.
Zoom in to your region to see what’s included or excluded.
If the property is inside one of these urban zones, it won’t be mapped in DAS — this is expected behavior.
🐾 A note from Dassie:
“Think of it like this — DAS is designed to dig deep into rural data only. If you’re poking around city plots, you won’t find any of our insights there!”
