Overview
Filters and Colours are tools which control the map visuals. Filters control what you see on the map, whereas Colours control how you see it.
To turn on/off the Filters & Colours menu, you can click the button next to the search bar. This menu will also automatically open when finding comparative properties during the valuation process.
To switch between the Filters and Colours tools, click on their respective tab buttons at the top of the menu. See below for more information on how to use each of these tools.
Filters
Filters are controlled via the green sliders (click at either end and drag to set a new value), or via the text boxes at either end of the sliders (click on a box and type new values). You can also add more filters by clicking the "Click to Add Filter" button and selecting an attribute from the drop down options:
When filters are set, the map will change to reflect the properties that match those filters:
In the example above, three filters are set - one for Area, one for Last Sale Price and one for Primary Land Use. Correspondingly, the map has highlighted the properties which match those filters - properties between 140 and 710 hectares in area, with a last sale price of between $200,000 and $3,100,000, and with a land area primarily dedicated to cereal crops.
We can also see that when a filter is set, information will appear at the bottom of the menu indicating how many properties on the map match the current filters set:
We can also see that whenever a filter is active, a popup appears on the map screen providing an alert that a filter is active.
Clicking this button will reset the filters and restore the map to its unfiltered state.
One of the key filters is Proximity. This filter will restrict properties shown to those within a set range of the "target property", with a red circle appearing showing this extent. When not conducting a property valuation, the "target property" is simply the property selected on the map (highlighted in orange):
When a property valuation is in progress, the "target property" becomes the valuation property (labelled with a '$' sign):
Sales listings, when they are active, are also subject to some of our filters - area, proximity, last sales price, and last sales price per hectare:
We can see here that the sales listings (blue pins) have been activated, and are being subjected to the same filters as the properties on the map. The text at the bottom of the Filters menu now also shows how many listings match the current filters. Clicking on a blue pin provides information on that sales listing in a pop-up, as shown in the image above.
Colours
Colours are currently limited in functionality, providing a way to visualise the properties on the map based on last sale year only. To activate this feature, click "Categorise by Last Sale Year" in the menu:
We can see that properties on the map have now been coloured based on their last sale year. Properties which are not coloured do not match any of the categories shown in the legend which appears in the Colours menu. We can also see, similar to Filters that a pop-up appears at the top of the map screen allowing us to turn off our colour categorisation.
Note that properties which do not match any active filter will not be coloured (filters control what is seen, colours how the things that are seen are styled):
The image above shows the same map area as in the previous image. We can also see that an Area filter is active, meaning only the properties which match our filter have the colour categories applied to them.
