DAS offers multiple ways to navigate the map and search for properties, ensuring you can quickly locate and analyze land areas of interest. Whether you prefer to explore visually or use specific search criteria, DAS provides intuitive tools to make property identification simple and efficient.
Below, we’ll walk you through the two main methods for finding properties:
Navigating the Map – Ideal for visually locating and selecting properties.
Using the Search Bar – Best for precise searches using addresses, coordinates, or property IDs.
Let’s dive into each method in detail:
Navigate on the Map
Move Around: Hold down the left mouse button and swipe to move across the map. Use the scroll wheel to zoom in or out.
Map Features: DAS offers features similar to Google Maps. Switch between satellite and terrain views, or drag the yellow icon to a specific location for a ground view, allowing you to explore the surroundings.
Select a Property: Once you find your desired location, left-click on the map to open the property interface, which will display detailed information about the selected land area.
Use the Search Bar
Located in the top-right corner of the interface (magnifying glass icon), the search bar offers multiple ways to find a property:
Address: Enter an address, similar to Google Maps, to see a dropdown of matching suggestions.
GNAF: Search using the Geoscape Geocoded National Address File, a trusted database widely used by Australian businesses and governments.
Parcels: Identify legally registered land sections with clearly defined boundaries.
Lat/Lon: Input specific geographic coordinates for precise location searches.
ID: Use our internal system's unique farm identifiers. You can find these in the Overview section of any selected property area, or custom farm.
For all the methods above, DAS will place a red pin at the location based on your search input. Once the pin appears, left-click anywhere within the black boundary borders to select the property. When selected, the black borders will highlight in yellow, allowing you to access detailed property data and create a custom farm if needed.
Both navigation methods provide detailed information to help you analyze and understand the property. Whether you're exploring visually or searching directly, DAS makes it simple and efficient to find the properties you need.
Once you've mastered searching for properties, the next step is learning how to build a custom farm to represent your point of interest or match your client’s property. Check out our detailed guide to get started: How Do I Build a Farm to Match My Customer’s Property?
