You can now refine your Portfolio results even further with the new “Exclude Government Land” setting, available from the Settings page (visible to Company Admins only). This feature allows you to remove protected and government-owned land from your query results, giving you a more accurate picture of market opportunity and market share.
How It Works
When the Exclude Government Land toggle is enabled:
Protected and government land is excluded from search results and calculations.
This applies to the total system farm count and area, altering your market share denominator accordingly.
Your user-created farms (e.g. Custom Farms or uploaded farms) are never excluded, regardless of whether they fall within government-designated zones.
This means you’ll still see your farms on the map and in calculations, even if they overlap with government land—ensuring your internal assets remain visible.
What is Considered Government Land?
The following land classifications are excluded when the setting is enabled:
CCA Zone 1 National Park
State Conservation Area
Indigenous Protected Area
National Parks Act Schedule 4 parks or reserves
⚠️ Note: Land types vary by state. Not all categories apply to every region.
Example Use Case
Consider two queries run over Bundaberg LGA:
With Government Land Excluded: The denominator shrinks, leading to a higher relative market share and clearer view of actual opportunity within commercially usable land.
With Government Land Included: Total system farm area is larger, and more parcels are included in the market share calculation.
Who Can Use This Feature?
🔒 Only Company Admins can access and update this setting. Once enabled or disabled, it applies to all users within the company account.
This tool is particularly useful for refining competitive analysis, especially when comparing your customer footprint against viable agricultural land, rather than land set aside for preservation or conservation.
