New Zealand Rainfall and Soil Mapping updates, including new and refined data for key regions updated on September 4th 2024.

Introduction

We are excited to announce the latest updates to our New Zealand Rainfall and Soil Mapping data, providing enhanced insights and improved data accuracy for our users. The new data covers a wide range of areas across New Zealand, including significant new mappings and updates to existing soil data.

New Mapping Data

  • Wellington – Wairarapa West Coast: 201,660 ha

  • Marlborough – Upper Wairau River Valley: 9,656 ha

  • Tasman – Tapawera Valley and Moutere Valley: 27,655 ha

  • Otago – Moa Flats: 64,625 ha

  • Southland – Chatton North and Curio Bay: 45,999 ha

  • Northland – Kaikohe, Dargaville, and Poutō Peninsula: 158,000 ha

Updated Mapping Data

  • Bay of Plenty – Kaituna and Maketū Water Management Areas: 123,698 ha

  • Motueka Hill Country, Tasman: 240,000 ha
