Central licencing
Central licencing is a process whereby your licence is uploaded to, and stored, on a network location within your organisations network so that users can download the relevant licence to their PC's rather than registering individually. If your organisation is using central licencing, you will see the following information in the licence check:
An entry in the Central licence location (network) field. This is a folder path to a location on your network.
Licence details under the Server Licence section at the bottom of the licence check screen.
Follow these steps to update your licence or add a new one to the network location.
Compare the local licence details with the server licence details, being sure to check the Expiry Date.
If you see two different sets of licence details, and your server licence shows the correct details, click the Down Arrow to replace your local details with the new server licence, followed by the Green Tick.
If both sets of licence details match and they have expired, click Edit.
Enter the new licence details and click Register.
Once you are returned to the Licence Check screen, click the Up Arrow to upload your new licence to the central location.
Make a final check on the Licence Check screen that your local and server licences match, then click the Green Tick.
Local licencing
When using local licencing only, each user must register the own copy of Dimensions using the following process:
Click Edit at the top of the screen, next to the Access logo.
Enter the new licence details and click Register.
Check the details on the Licence Check screen and click the Green Tick.
đ Note: Once the new licence is loaded, log out and log back in to check for any unexpected changes to available functionality. If an incorrect licence is applied, some user profile settings may be disabled. When the correct licence is applied, those settings remain disabled and must be manually reviewed and reset. Note any changes before logging a support case.
