Take care when restoring a database. Overwriting the wrong database — for example, restoring a test backup over your live database — is your responsibility. If in doubt, ask your IT team to carry out this task. **Restoring to a new database:** 1. Open Dimensions Administrator. 2. Log in using Dimensions credentials or the SA account. 3. Click Restore Database. 4. Enter a name for the new database in the Database to Restore field. 5. Select the backup file location from the Restore backup from drop-down. 6. Click Start Restore. **Overwriting an existing database** (for example, refreshing your test database from a live backup): 1. Open Dimensions Administrator. 2. Log in using Dimensions credentials or the SA account. 3. Click the database you want to overwrite, then click Restore Database. 4. The Database to Restore field shows the existing database. Tick Force restore over existing data. 5. In the Restore backup from field, select the backup file. 6. Click Start Restore.
