What You Will Need

  1. Your Dispel login credentials

  2. A TOTP app

For TOTP app download links, please refer to the TOTP section of the Overview.

How To Do It

1. In the lower left corner of the Console, click on the circle with your initials, then click on Account Settings

2. Scroll down to the "Two-factor Authentication" section and click "Set up". Please note that you will not receive new recovery codes, because you already have MFA enabled through the hardware token. The recovery codes you received then are still valid.

3. As you already have a set of recovery codes, you will not be asked to save new ones.

4. You will see a QR code and a text secret. These two are equivalent. In your TOTP app, scan the QR code.

5. Your TOTP app should automatically save your Dispel account and generate a six digit token every 30 seconds. To verify that MFA works, type in the six digit token you see, and click "Set up authenticator app." Once you've clicked that, you'll be redirected to the settings page.

6. If you want to be extra sure that TOTP works now, sign out of your account and sign back in.

Logging In with TOTP

1. Enter your username and password

2. You will still be prompted for your hardware token first. To use TOTP, click on "Sign in with authenticator app"

3. Enter your six-digit token

4. Congratulations! You should be in.
