Overview

This guide covers how to add an individual device or a device subnet to your organization's dashboard.

Dispel also supports bulk device uploads from CSV files, which are often exported from your Asset Discovery tools. To learn how to upload devices in bulk, please click the link below.

Pre-Requisites

Before you can add reachable devices to your Dashboard, you will need:

  • A Region

  • A Facility

  • An installed Wicket within the facility, and

  • A Dispel representative to push the device routes within the Dispel network.

Check out the guides below to fulfill these pre-requisites!

💡 Don't see a Wicket associated with your Facility?

If your Facility does not have any listed Wickets in its "Wickets" sub-tab, please reach out to a Dispel team member to add it to your Dashboard.

Walkthrough

  1. Navigate to the "Devices" tab in the left menu.

2. Near the top of the page, click "+ Add devices" and then "Add single device." In the menu that appears, input all your desired device info (required info is marked with an *). If you have multiple wickets attached to a facility and are unsure which wicket to associate this Facility with, please reach out to your Organization Administrator.

3. Add desired ports and protocols for this device by selecting "Add protocol," selecting your desired protocol, and typing your desired port. Note that you can input select ports (e.g. 334, 22, 76) as well as port ranges (e.g. 22-100, 443) in addition to individual ports. Additionally, you can onboard a single device with a specific IP address, or you can onboard a subnet of devices using CIDR notation if you know all devices within the subnet will need the same type of access.

4. Click "Add device". This will save your device, which will be visible in the Devices Inventory page and the "Devices" tab on the facilities page.

Next Steps

Congratulations! You have now added a new device to your Dashboard.

Now that you have added a new device or subnet of devices to your organization, reach out to a Dispel representative to ensure routes to these devices are added to the Dispel network.

Additionally, you will need to grant individual users or groups access to these devices on a port/protocol level. For guidance on how to do this, please visit the guide below.
