Hello.

Welcome to your new Wicket. Let us show you around.

This guide shows you what your Dispel Wicket does, helps you set it up, and gets you up and running.

Your account is configured and ready to go, so you can start using your Wicket right out of the box.

A quick look at the Dispel Wicket

This section describes the Dispel Wicket body.

Setting up your Wicket

Your Wicket needs a connection from the Internet, a connection out to a router (LAN or Wi-Fi) or your computer, and power.

The purpose here is to put the Wicket between the outside world and whatever devices are using that connection.

External Internet

The external Internet connection connects into the USB ports on the Wicket. Only plug one external Internet connection to the USB ports at a time.

You will need an Ethernet-to-USB adapter for the external Internet connection.

  1. Connect the Ethernet cable into the USB adapter. Use the Ethernet cable from your modem (coming from the external Internet).

2. Plug the USB adapter into any of the USB ports on the Wicket.

Secured Internet Connection

Any devices connecting to the secured Internet port will be protected by Dispel, and give the user access to any Project resources that Wicket has access to.

  1. Connect the Ethernet cable going to your router (LAN or Wi-Fi) or computer into the Ethernet port on the Wicket.

Powering your Wicket

Your Wicket uses a standard +5.1V microUSB supply.

  1. Plug the microUSB cable into the Wicket microUSB port. When power is supplied to the cable, the Wicket will turn on.

Operating the Dispel Wicket

After inbound and outbound Ethernet cables are connected, and power is established, your Wicket will turn on. It will then attempt to connect to the Dispel Project to which it is assigned as part of your license.

The Wicket status is shown by the status light at Ⓔ.
